The foundational model produces initial low-resolution samples, which undergo a sequence of upscaling transformations performed by subsequent models, resulting in the creation of visually striking high-resolution images. Notably, DeepFloyd IF’s foundational and super-resolution models incorporate diffusion models, leveraging Markov chain steps to introduce stochastic noise into the data before reversing the process to synthesize fresh data samples from the induced noise.

This tool operates exclusively within the pixel space, as opposed to latent diffusion techniques. Its performance stands out with a cutting-edge zero-shot FID (Fréchet Inception Distance) score and a profound grasp of textual context, thanks to the integration of the expansive language model T5-XXL as a text encoder.

Diverse textual content, styles, textures, and spatial relationships can be seamlessly integrated. Achieving image-to-image translation involves resizing the original image to a 64-pixel scale, introducing controlled noise via forward diffusion, and subsequently enhancing the image’s clarity during the backward diffusion process through the application of a new prompt.

This approach offers an expansive range of possibilities for fine-tuning the style, patterns, and intricate details in the generated output while preserving the essence of the source image. DeepFloyd IF specializes in text-to-image synthesis and is versatile enough to embroider images onto fabric, incorporate them into stained-glass windows, include them in collages, or illuminate them as neon signs.
